The Latest On Vaccinations & Testing With Cruising

As of July 18, 2022 CDC ended its COVID program for Cruise Ships and instead published more of a guidance to assist cruise ships in providing a safe environment for their passengers and crew.
Since the announcement, many Cruise Lines are beginning to change their protocols. Requirements for each Cruise Line differ and can change daily, so please check with your travel advisor or cruise line for their latest requirements before booking. Here's what we know for today, August 24, 2022, on a few of the Cruise lines.
Carnival has new guidelines beginning September 6, 2022. Unvaccinated Guests will be allowed to sail with the results of a negative PCR or antigen test taken within 3 days of embarkation. This applies for guests cruising 15 nights or shorter and for destinations not requiring proof of vaccination. Carnival also just announced today that unvaccinated guests will be allowed to self-test for sailings 15 nights or less to non vaccine mandated countries. For more information visit
Celebrity Cruises has new guidelines effective September 5, 2022. Unvaccinated Guests are allowed to sail for most U.S. and Europe ports. (excluding sailings that visit Canada and Bermuda) Unvaccinated guests will need to test 3 days prior to sailing, depending on the country travel requirements. Disney Cruise Line, as of September 2, 2022, will no longer require vaccinated guests to test at the pier but fully vaccinated guests must test negative no more than 2 days prior to sailing. Full vaccination is required for guests ages 12 and over (the previous requirement was age 5). There are additional testing requirements for unvaccinated guests. Margaritaville At Sea guests ages 2 years old and up are required to be vaccinated in order to cruise. They do not require testing for any of their vaccinated guests. Documentation of recovery can be accepted, detailed information can be found at https://margaritavilleatsea.com/prepare-to-sail/
MSC Cruises requires all guests 12 years and older to be vaccinated. Testing is required for all guests within 3 days of sailing, except for fully-vaccinated guests on cruises 5 nights or less. https://www.msccruisesusa.com/health-and-safety-measures
Norwegian Cruise Line, as of September 3rd, will not require vaccinations unless they are cruising to a destinations requiring vaccinations. (such as Canada or Bermuda) Covid 19 testing is required from unvaccinated guests over the age of 12 at least 72 hours before boarding. https://www.ncl.com/sail-safe
Princess Cruises, as of September 6th, welcomes all guests regardless of vaccination status for their sailings 15 days or less or to countries not requiring vaccinations. Royal Caribbean International, as of September 5th, welcomes all guests regardless of vaccination status. (unless traveling to Canada, Australia or Bermuda) Unvaccinated guests age 5 and up will need to test within 3 days before boarding, regardless of cruise length. Vaccinated guests will need to test for cruises 10 days or longer. They will also begin accepting results from self-administered home tests.
